Peppered Cory (Hoplisoma paleatum, formerly Corydoras paleatus)

Peppered corydoras are beautiful, peaceful little bottom dwellers with a natural, wild look, showing off their mottled patterns and green flecks as they explore the tank with endless curiosity.
Important Cory fact:
These fish must be kept in groups of the same species, as they naturally live in large shoals in the wild. I recommend a minimum of six of one kind, as smaller mixed groups don't give them the security they need. I have seen people keep just three Cory's, and they often fade away one by one from stress. Proper same-species groups make them feel safe, confident, and active so they can truly thrive.
Water Conditions:
• 20–26°C
• pH 6.5–7.5
• Soft–medium water
Diet:
A variety of good-quality fish food will work perfectly, as long as they sink and actually reach your corys at the bottom.
Good to know:
Corydoras should ideally be kept on sand, as it's gentle on their sensitive barbels and allows them to sift, dig, and forage naturally, just like they do in the wild.
Corys love settling down for little naps under driftwood and tank decor. It makes them feel safe, cosy, and right at home, just like in their natural habitat.
